Permission Setups
You can manage users and permissions within Business Central. You need to assign permission sets to users based on their role as described below. You can learn more about assigning permission sets to users or user groups in the Microsoft Business Central documentation.
Permissions for Document Attachment Merge Administrators
Setting up Document Attachment Merge — configuring the Middleware URL and Fallback Behavior, and enabling or disabling reports — requires the Document Attachment Merge permission set assigned.
Users with standard Business Central roles (D365 Basic, D365 Bus Full Access, D365 Bus Premium, D365 Full Access) already have the permissions needed to print, preview, and email documents that are merged by the app — no additional assignment is required for those users to simply use the merged output. The Document Attachment Merge permission set is only needed for the administrator setting up and maintaining the app's configuration.
